I was not prepared for this shoot, I got invited by fellow PiPhols while shooting the Ferraris at the NBC Tent. After having lunch, we proceeded to Avilon Zoo, it took us about an hour & a half drive to reach the place, Avilon Zoo is located in Bo. San Isidro, Rodriguez, Rizal (formerly Montalban). They boast of being the biggest zoo in the land & 3rd in the world, the vicinity measures a little over 7 hectares.
Avilon Zoo, literally means “Bird Land” (aves meaning bird & lon for land), which is so evident with their wide collection of birds big & small alike.
Although having such a name, the zoo does not limit itself with birds, I am amazed by their collectio of reptiles as well.
The cats are also present inside the zoo.
Thanks to Tynn for lending me his Nikkor 70~300mm D, I was able to capture this lion from afar. Whew! I miss my 70~300 lens! Bibili uli ako nyan! Promise!
What consumed much of our time are these primates, the keepers took them from their cages & gave us time to shoot & interact with these friendly animals.
This is an Orangutan named Jenny, she loves to swing with the boys. Women were warned about her attitude towards them.
After more than 4 hours of tour, by the way, our guide was great, she knows what she was doing. Going back, after 4 hours of tiring tour, I would say that the PhP208 (PhP160 basic entrance, PhP48 amusement tax) entrance fee was well worth it. Kids & adults will really enjoy & would learn from such experience.

Naalala ko yang monkey na yan ah na nakatali sa 2nd to the last picture, paikot-ikot yan sa zoo noon e, hanggang ngayon parin pala. hahaha!
yung jeopard naman nahirapan ako kuhanan dati, pano, paikot ikot sa kulungan. hirap kunan ng magandang angle.
Meron din dyan sa avelon yung may pinakamalaking isda ba yun, nakalimutan ko na nasa kulungan din ng lion yun e. yung parang may ilog dun, di ko nga lang nakita kasi nasa tubig. hahaha!
meron din dyan yung hayop na matagal daw manganak at magbuntis. rare nga daw yun, kung di ako nagkakamali, mga 90years pa bago sila makapagbuntis. ahahaha! sayang wala kang kuha dito, ang weirdo ng itsura nun e. mukang si Drowzee ng pokemon. hakhak,.
