A matter of principle

October 10th, 2004 · No Comments

This has something to do with my October 1st entry entitled I don’t wanna see your badge!!!!. If you haven’t read that, please do so.

I’m out of the team, that’s for sure. When Willie asked why I lef the team, my reply was brief, “It’s a matter of principle.” Yes it was. For me, my principle is my self-worth and losing it would mean loosing a big part of my life.

Two days ago, I heard the same line, not surprisingly from Willie. Knowing Willie, he is much capable of saying that line than I am. The thing is, although he was included in the team but he was placed under the “reserved” line-up. When someone told him Lahat naman may uniporme, I saw him burst into anger and said, hindi naman uniporme lang ang habol ko, gusto kong maglaro.

Whew! That was deep! Yeah, a sportsman that he is, it would be very hard for him to accept that he won’t be able to play (maybe he will play but only if someone in the official line up won’t be able to play).

Our action’s may sound childish to someone, who cares! This is who we are, and we can stand on what we decide on…
