yesterday was world aids day, that explains why cnn was running a documentary on aids in africa.
i first heard of aids when i was in third year high-school (1984), it came out in our quarterly science journal (bato-balani), i did not take it seiously. in an era that sexually transmitted disease (std) is called “sakit sa babae” (disease acquired from women). i was even brought to the guidance counselor’s office for wearing a t-shirt with “aids doesn’t matter” printed on it.
my stupidity (then) is ignorable, but not of matured people. we still can fight this disease.
