Hamdesal breakfast meal

So on my way to church, I passed by a McDonald’s store in Binakayan and showed the text message to the person behind the cash register. She gladly gave me the Plain Hamdesal, I added a cup of coffee and large fries, yeps, no free drinks, just the hamdesal.

Then, just a few seats from me, I saw the store manager interviewing an applicant, the young girl looks eager in getting the job. After the interview, an elderly customer called the attention of the Manager:

Customer: Ako ba di pwedeng mag-apply?
Manager: May age limit po kasi kami.
Customer: So, I’m not qualified?
Manager: Di naman po, kaya lang po may age limit nga po yung hiring namin
Customer: What if I can perform the job, sa America di pwede yan, you can be charged with discrimination.

This is not the first time I saw this 2 elderly customers, I saw them before in that same store. Judging from the cap that they are wearing, it looks like that they were former Sailors (that’s how they call the US Navy servicemen here).

They are actually right, discrimination in the workplace are common here in the Philippines. Do I need to say more? Just look around and you’ll see what I mean.
