dahil sa sobrang toxic ng office kahapon nakalimutan kong may fitr1 [break fast] sched pala ako with my former boss kasama ang isang indian engineer sa kompanya namin.

sa mga regular reader ng blog ko, nasubaybayan n’yo siguro ung failed transfer ko sa ibang company. my boss was to blame kung bakit ako umuwi sa pilipinas last march. when he transferred to a new job last december, pinilit n’ya akong lumipat sa kompanyang nilipatan n’ya, he gave me an irresistable job offer. the offer was over a thousand dollars, far more than the $500 a month na kinikita ko ngayon.

after matanggap ko ang offer, dumiskarte ako ng pera, good thing napa-utang ako ni pañero para makabili ng 2-way ticket. but things never went my way, i failed the medical examination and lost my chance to earn it big. almost 3 months din akong nag-hibernate, and when i was ready to face the truth despite the other things that bothers my mind, i decided to come back to saudi arabia and face the new challenges my previous work has to offer.

enough of my reminiscin, i met mohiuddin in the city center, dahil nga wala akong kotse, kailangan ko ng kasamang may kotse. mejo naligaw pa nga kami, instead na sa ferdous kami pumasok ay sa farouk kami nakarating, it didn’t took us long to find my former boss’ house.

pagdating namin sa bahay wala pa si bosing [this is how i call him before], unlike sa atin, di basta-basta nagpapapasok sa bahay hanggang wala ang “man of the house”, good thing naibilin na ni bosing ang pagdating namin and we were led to the sitting room and waited for azzan before we start eating. thamer [dates], cheese sambosa, juices & ghawa [traditional arabic coffee] ang nakahain sa amin, halos tapos na kami ng dumating si bosing.

honestly, i was glad to see him again, the last time na nakita ko siya is when he handed me the job offer. once again, he said sorry to me, he felt guilty for what had happened to me. he has always been a great man to work with and given another opportunity, i will try not to screw it. after the short breakfast, they went for prayer and tuloy ang kwentuhan namin.

he then led us to the dining hall when a new set of meal was waiting, first time kong ma-experience ang fitr and it was good. the food was very good and the conversation tops it all.

looking back mr. debas al-harbi [that's his name] is not just my boss, he’s a friend, and it’s rare to find somebody like him in this part of the world.

1 a meal to break the fast, this will start after the call for prayer [azzan] for the afternoon prayer [al-maghreb].
