Vantage Point

whew! ang lamig na naman! about 2 weeks ago when the temperature dropped to 8°c for about 2 days, tapos it went normal at 18 - 23°c. pero grabe ang lamig kagabi, i went out to pick up my laundry and to dine. i wasn’t sure how cold last night was, i believe it’s between 6 - 10°c.

the worst is that taxis were no where to find, i spent at least 15 minutes before i finally found a ride. kaya lang when i arrived at the city center, the imams are reciting the azzan¹, and shops are closing. since wala naman akong magagawa and instead of freezing my balls self by staying outside, pumasok ako sa isang resto na matigas ang ulo nagpapapasok kahit na oras ng salah² and had my dinner there. broasted chicken lang ang kinain ko and waited until the prayer is finished.

since aisha³ is the longest prayer of the 5 prayers [a day], it took about 30 minutes before they finally open the resto & other shops, i strolled around the city first before i picked-up my laundry, check out things that i might be needing, damn these people really know how to attract people to buy their merchandise, muntik na naman akong mahulog sa patibong. muntik ko ng bilhin ung jacket, but thank god for giving me the right mind to refuse, i might end up broke 2 weeks before the next salary comes.

i just closed my eyes [not really closing it] and went straight to the laundry shop and picked up my laundry, and went directly home. home for me here is a lonely silent room, a portable cabin that can accommodate 4 people, with air-conditioning system but no heater to keep the cold breeze from killing me. it’s just another cold winter season that i have to live through.
