Di ko napanood ang buong SONA ni GMA, napanood ko lang ang highlights nito sa evening news. In my personal opinion wala namang bago sa sinabi nya except the fact that she’s pushing for a charter change.

Walang dapat ikatuwa ang bayan, I would agree to the analysis of Mon Casiple that the address was targeting the middle-class. Nothing was mentioned about any econmic reforms and halatang iniwasan ni GMA na talakayin ang current political crisis. Instead tinuon nya ang lahat sa political reforms and this is CHA-CHA.

GMA is calling the congress to convene itself as Constituent Assembly (Con Ass) to study the changes in the current constitution, malinaw ang panawagan n’ya na dapat palitan ang uri ng pamamahala mula sa Presidential patungong Parliamentary-Federal. I would reserve my opinion on that matter. I would only comment on the way they want the constitution to be changed.

Napakalaking kalokohan kapag binago ang konstitusyon sa pamamaraang Constituent Assembly, these people are with vested interest and current political leaning. They would still carry with them the interest of their party. Nakakatakot ang kakalabasan ng konstitusyon kapag hindi nabago ang komposisyon ng mga taong babalangkas nito.

Alam ko rin na kahit ConCon ang buuin ay maaring masalaula pa rin ang konstitusyon subalit ang posibilidad na may lumabas na mga bagong mukha at bagong paninindigan ay maaring mangyari.
