Kagabi, I went to the internet cafè check my site, my e-mail & have a chit-chat with my friends in the IRC. My plan is just to be only for an hour, but when I was about to log-off, when someone from a not so wholesome channel macked me.

Her: that?s strange.
Me: what?s so strange about it? OK. It?s not what ur thinking. I?m straight, in fact I had a son, he?s 8 yrs old now.

Her: e di illegitimate ang anak mo?

I ended the conversation just after I explained to her how legitimate my son is.

There are 2 classic dogma that I?ve noticed during our conversation, (1) I?m still single at 35 & (2) having an illegitimate child. I can?t imagine how people can still think this way. Ang labo diba? Parang napakalalim ng religious & societal dogma na iniwan sa atin ng mga Kastila.

Saying that my child is illegitimate does not do anything but adding insult to injury. I believe that whatever consequences of the errors that the child?s parents have committed must not be borne solely by the child. Tagging the child as illegitimate is tantamount to sentencing a child a lifetime of imprisonment for what his/her parent?s have done.

Valentine’s po ngayon, for those couples heading towards, Pasig, Pasay, Caloocan or Ermita, think twice, better be safe, otherwise you have to accept any consequnces that your action may bring.
