I went to Clark Free Port Zone in Pampanga yesterday to witness the 12th Philippine Hot Air Balloon Fiesta.

It was my first time to go there, in fact, I don’t know how to go there. What I did was I left Cavite around 8PM went to 3 different bus terminals to check which bus will pass by Dau Terminal. Of all the 3 terminals, only Genesis Bus bound to Baguio will stop at Dau Terminal, the bus was scheduled to leave at 11PM.

We arrived at Dau Terminal around 12:30AM, demn! I have to wait for another 4 hours before the event starts. I stayed at the terminal until 4AM, had my breakfast at Chowking near the terminal at around 2AM, had a chit-chat with Manong Guard at the Jollibee outlet also at the terminal before finally proceeding to the site.

After 2 more jeepney rides (one from Dau to Clark gate & from the gate to the site) I finally reached the Philippine Air Force ground. Just in time to see the preparation of the balloons to be flown.

A total of Twenty One (21) hot air balloons from different countries were flown from the ground.

After the balloons have left the ground, the Philippine National Anthem was played & 3 of the Philippine Navy Sky Divers did the flag drop.

One thing that impresses me much was the beautiful dawn that complimented the beauty of the balloons that were flown.

GMA Networks Unang Hirit was also there to cover the event.

Of course, I need something to prove that I was there witnessing the event, here’s my self portrait.

Hope you too enjoyed the photos like how I’ve enjoyed it, more photos here.
