For days I’ve been hounded by our “final assignment” in our Basic Photography Workshop. During our first meeting, we were told that we need to produce 2 8×10 (8R) pictures, the first subject is all about metals & the other one would be a portrait of a human being.
Two weeks ago I started shooting metals, coins in particular. I spent 36 exposures of ISO 100 film just to find the best shot of all. My camera never failed me, I had to choose between 5 different pictures. What’s left is a huma portrait, that would be easy I thought.
Then last week, Mr. Ador Pamintuan changed the subject. The first picture should have glassware as a subject instead of metals and the second picture is still human portrait, but, nobody can use false lighting. Duh! That means we have to rely on the sun as our sole source of light.
Well, we can’t do nothing but shoot those subject or else no diploma. I spent sometime thinking of the best glassware subject until i ended up shooting a glass filled with beer. I experimented with different exposure setting. In my first try I used 1 36 exposure (ISO400) Fuji film. Shooting 2 different kind of glasses. I consumed a total of 24 shots for that subject and the result. Frustrating!!! My fault is I used flash instead of just relying on the natural light. But not totally frustrating since I produced 1 good shot, my final shot.

Can see what’s wrong? I can. Yes, you are right it is leaning to the left. I cant submit a project like this so Last night I shoot another subject, this time it’s a candle. This time I used 24 exposures of ISO100 Fuji Film. I consumed about 10 out of 24 shots experimenting on different exposure settings.
