There’s a popular acronym in our forum, GAS means Gear Acquisition Syndrome. With the continuous improvement on the gears & the never ending effort of the camera producers to present a better products, consumers are always looking for the better gear. I recently added 2 new gears in my ever growing collection of photography gear. It’s not new in a sense that these were available in the market for quite a while & I would say that I bought this not just because of impulse but by necessity.

First is the AF Nikkor 50mm f1.8D, my first prime lens, it’s a single focal length lens & a fast lens at f2.8. This lens is perfect for portraiture & low-light situation. This tiny plastic China made lens is a workhorse & tact sharp lens, it’ll be tested tomorrow when I shoot my friends pre-nup.

Next is my 2nd Nikon SB-800 AF Speedlight for my Nikon D70 camera, it was hard to shift the flash from one camera to another. Also, this will enable me to further explore the power of Nikon CLS® with the 2 flash system.

Whew! Photography is a never ending expense, what’s next for me? In my dreams, I’d love to have AF-S VR Zoom-NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8G IF-ED, AF-S DX Zoom-NIKKOR 17-55mm f/2.8G IF-ED & a Nikon D300. ![]()
