napansin n’yo ba? bago ang lay-out ko. i’d like to call it hang in there, so what’s in it?

except for the new color scheme & the new banner image [which i will explain later on this article], i’ve implemented some changes on the looks & content of my blog.

1. i included a top navigational menu;
2. on the navigational menu i transferred the links page which was previously located on my side bar, it eats up most of my sidebar space that’s why i decided to transfer it.
3. also on the navigational menu, i added an archive page, a wordpress plug-in called kgarchive created by kate gasis. thanks.
4. on my sidebar, you can see the weather icon, another worpress plug-in, it has been there for a long time but it is just time to thank the people who created it. thanks to Jeremiah Poling & Garett Harnish for developing a nice plug-in
5. two of the new features that i’ve implemented are the recent posts & the recently commented features. it is called customizable post listing which i’ve dwonloaded from coffee2code.com
6. and lastly, i included the footnotes plug-in from Simon Elvery

the banner

it took me a lot of time to finally pick an image that would fit my new design. i took this image inside fort santiago in intramuros manila during our basic photography workshop conducted by fppf, it was one of the centuries old walls near the rizal shrine, my concept was to capture the twig and the gunshot mark [below] applying the pinciple of “off-centering” the subject/s. the shot was originally know as “grow anywhere” in my defunct photo gallery. when i show my working version of the theme to a friend, simple lang ang sinabi n’ya, “nice banner, it’s like saying ‘hang-in there’, parang ikaw [laughs]“. i never noticed that, that’s why from a working name ‘bRicks’ i’ve changed the it to ‘hang in there’, it seems more appropriate.

the theme is a modified version of the the default wordpress theme. with the help from urban giraffe’s blank theme i was able to create a theme for my own. i have no plans of propagating this to the web though.

what i can say is that this is still a working theme, i still have some modifications in mind. just give me time to implement it.
