Yesterday night I decided to sign up with PINOYBLOG, I guess it will help me in a lot of ways, di naman kasi ako ganun kahusay magsulat I think marami akong matutunan in terms of style. Beides, it is good to learn from other people’s experience.

This afternoon I checked the PINOYBLOG site and 1 entry caught my attention. It is entitled Martyr nga ba ang mga babae, (if you have time, please check it out.

I was touched kasi it tackles the sensitive issue of domestic violence and in my own opinion, domestic violence (or any violence) has no room in a mature society. Violence against women must end and I think mature men (I would include myself) like us should be in the forefront of the battle against domestic violence.

Somebody asked me before on how we can stop such violence. Simple lang ang sagot ko, we must get out of the macho culture that we have, violence is born out of supremacy. If someone thinks that he is supreme over somebody then he can beat her up.

Mahirap sa lalaking tulad ko na bitawan ang pagiging macho, baka maging outcast ka or worst you will be the favorite beer table topic ng mga friends mo. We don’t want to be called “Andres”, pero mga tsong dapat may respeto. Kaya mo nga pinakasalan e, kaya ka nga pinakasalan kasi she has entrusted her life to you, tapos ikaw ang papatay sa kanya. Ironic diba?
