for the first time in almost 4 years of working in this company, na-late ako for almost 7 minutes. usually, 30 minutes to 1 hour early ako sa trabaho when i was still living in the camp, when i transferred to our new place, 10 to 15 we arrive 10 to 15 minutes early.
i woke up early as usual, 5:30 pa lang ng umaga gising na ako, prepare na ng kape, ligo, yosi & everything. maaga ring nakapag-prepare si pareng deks, 6:40 pa lang nakababa na kami at naghihintay ng bus. our bus usually arrives at 6:50, kina deks 7:00, mas maaga ang kina niko, 6:20 kay mas maaga siyang nababa.
the came as scheduled and follow the same route, the bus ride usually takes about 20 minutes, but this day is different. pagdating namin sa checkpoint, super haba ng pila ng mga sasakyan, naisip ko na, late na kami nito. we have to pass 2 more plants [sadaf & ibn-zahr] & drop some people there bago pa dumertso sa planta namin.
when i look on my cellphone to check the time, 7:13 na pero mahigit pang 20 sasakyan ang nasa unahan namin. usually naman sa checkpoint, kaway lang ng lespu tapos sasabihin “yallah1“ tapos na boxing, pero kanina, todo inspeksyon, check lahat ang id, binubuksan ang compartment ng kotse. hightened alert ba? ewan, mas ok na rin yan, sabi nga nila an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
we arrived [with our department secretary] around 7:37am, normally naman late ang boss ko kaya di n’ya ako nahalatang late. hehehe!!!
