The Photoworld Asia opened yesterday at the Glorietta Activity Center in Makati. The highlight of the event is the 5 day conference which started today until the 5th of February.

I really wanted to attend the conference, the topics are very interesting, but I felt that the travel would kill me. I have to travel from Cavite to Makati & that’s no joke, one is the distance & the other reason will be the traffic situation. Since the conference will start at 9AM, that would mean I have to leave my place before 7AM, an hour & a half for the travel time & the rest will be my personal time allotment for the hassles, i.e. traffic & waiting time for the public transportation.

I’m not to be left behind though, I just came from Glorietta today to see what’s happening at the Activity Center, two words, mouth watering! Sponsors displayed their products, they offered discounts on selected items ranging from 5-20% (I haven’t seen anybody offering higher than that). This is also a good time to see friends & fellow photographers in one big event, of course the sharing & boasting of their new gear acquisitions & just simply hanging around & enjoying the event.

My eyes were focussed on the Manfrotto tripod, demn! I really want those carbon fiber (ultra f*cking weight) tripods! My choice costs about 21k for the tripod alone & about 7k for the ballhead. Hay! Better luck next time!
