i received an e-mail from one of my co-worker here, it is entitled the basics of cash flow. medyo mahaba yung attachment, 5 pages na word document kaya instead of copying it here, i would try to summarize it na lang.
i do agree on the essence to the docs, medyo may mga points na hindi ko masyadong sinasangayunan.
simple lang naman ang tema ng document, it is how we spend our daily wages (well if you’re running your own business baka exempted ka), according to the writer, employees/migrant workers tend to spend their hard-earned wages on “liabilities” rather than spending it on assets. for him, buying top of the line cellphones/electronic gadgets (dvd/vcd players, large television sets, etc.), cars & even jewelries are considered as liabilities. tama din naman dahil depreciative ang mga items na ito.
naalala ko tuloy ang unang room mate ko dito sa saudi, he was about to go on vacation christmas of that year, sabi n’ya “parang ayaw ko pang umuwi, wala pa kasi akong maiuuwing pera”. nagulat ako dahil noong maka-sweldo kami ay may malakas na tumutugtog sa kwarto namin, isang brand new na jvc vcd component (worth 2000 riyals that time). so i asked, “akala ko ba wala kang pera kaya ayaw mo pang umuwi?” kumati ang ulo ko sa sagot n’ya, “ang hirap naman na uuwi ako na walang dala, para naman akong hindi nag-saudi noon.”
actually, i am as guilty as he is, hindi rin ako mahusay maghawak ng pera (kaya nga wala pang digital camera e!). i tend to buy things impulsively, syempre ang resulta nito ay paycheck to paycheck existence. demn! kung ganyan di na ko makakaalis dito!
aba! dapat pala baguhin ko na ang aking spending pattern & invest on something na maghahango sa pagkabulahaw ko dito.
