The Kid in Me

November 4th, 2007 · 7 Comments

As a kid, I always dreamt of owning one of the tiny little model cars most commonly called as “Match Box.” Unfortunately, I wasn’t lucky, our family couldn’t afford to spend money for this, I grew up wanting this. As time passed by, the craving seems to be less until somebody special to me gave me not one but two model cars as present (birthday & christmas yata).

Anyways, now that I have the (extra) resources to acquire these things, I went to a local toy store to check out these toys, I ended up buying 5! I wanted to collect cars that were manufactured on or before the year that I was born, so expect these models to be almost 40. Here’s my current acquisition.

First is a ‘69 Custom Chevy Truck, I’m a big fan of large cars & trucks for that matter, I didn’t like the color though, I really want something red for this truck, hmmm… maybe a canister of spray paint will do the job. :P

Next is my dream machine! A 1969 Mustang, again, not the color of my choice, a black mustang would best fit my taste. Would you believe that I saw a black model in another store just 2 days after I bought this thing, anyways, that’s life. :D

This black beauty is a 1969 Camaro, it’s convertible which adds some “pogi” points to the driver.

The next car is way older than I am, it’s a ‘63 T-Bird & another convertible, powered by it’s V8 which produces 300 horse power.

This one is another large car, a ‘64 GM Impala, I really don’t know anything about this model, I took this one because of the “Taxi” marking on the side which makes it interesting.

Contrary to what you might perceive, these are Hotwheels & not Matchbox, they offer the models that I wanted to have. The price is just about the same, I’m still eyeing for maybe 5 more models, I hope to have it before Christmas.

Hmmm… don’t be bothered with the looks of my photos, I processed these using photoshop, just added some textures to have that old look on it.
