This days marks my 733th day here in Saudi Arabia. I am supposed to leave the Kingdom early morning (4:30 am GMT +5) today. But for just one wave of the “almighty’s” hand, my dreams crumbled.
Two months ago I submitted all the necessary documents to the company for “fast & easy” processing of my papers. Things went right at first, they gave me the confirmation (or should I say a nod) that I will go home on the day that I planned, then they sent a replacement, who will take over my position during my leave.
It made me believe that I will go as scheduled.
But on my last days, everything went wrong. You can feel from the mumbling reply of the devil’s right hand (I am pertaining to our project coordinator) that he’s lying. Yeps, he lied to me. When I called our head office, I was told that my papers hasn’t reached the office until the time that I called.
Yeah! Just like that. It seems that no one cares about my plan, about what I am feeling, the uncertainty that’s been hounding me.
Today I learned about the 11th commandment, “thou shalt not trust thy employer’s dog.”
