Work & Play at Nasugbu, Batangas

December 15th, 2007 · 5 Comments

I received the call about 10:50PM Thursday night, the guy was saying that if I can shoot for a pre-nup the following day. After a minutes of discussion & negotiation, I agreed to take the job.

The pick-up time was Friday, 14th of December 2007 at 7:30AM, the location was set at Matabungkay Beach Resort in Batangas. On the way, we saw some good billboards & with a few more discussions, we decided to go to Nasugbu instead of Matabungkay, a resort named Pico de Loro was the unanimous choice. We reached the Nasugbu Town proper at around 9AM, Pico de Loro is about 20 kilometers away from the town proper, it was a long uphill, downhill & winding trip only to find out that the resort is still under construction. What the f*ck!

We don’t want to ruin our day, we decided to go back & ask for a good place to shoot. We were directed to a place very near to the town proper, the beach was bad & unsuitable for a pre-nup shots. We thought that we’ve wasted our time & almost decided to go to Matabungkay. The boatman came to rescue our day, he suggested that we hire him to bring us to a beach near to Punta Fuego, for 1,500 pesos we were brought to a place that would be considered a paradise.
The Boat

It was just a 30 minute boat ride, for me it was relatively smooth trip, I had experienced a more bumpy ride when I was younger. The trip wasn’t boring at all, there are a lot of things to see & appreciate.
Manong & his Paraw

This was the site that welcomed us! Tell me if it’s not paradise!
Punta Fuego

We wanted to eat this but we decided to keep these poor little lobster alive for a few more hours.

Another negotiation came, these boatmen suggested that we try shooting at the Twin Island, we just need to add a thousand more & we will experience something better. The couple agreed, they really wanted to have a beautiful beach setting on their pre-nup.

The additional One Thousand Pesos is well worth it, the site was just marvelous! I had taken beautiful shots of the couple while we were in the island, you can check out the photos here.
Twin Islands

Now it’s my time to shine, I mean it’s time to share my photos while in the island, these photos were take by the guy who hired me.

Shooting again

To sum it up, it was more fun than pain, it’s work & play bundled into one. I was tired but I’ve enjoyed every moment of it, my pants got wet but I don’t give a damn!
